Parian Dolls:
Parian Dolls are made from a white porcelain that
resembles Greek Parian marble. Although similar to china dolls, which are glazed,
Parian dolls had an unglazed finish. Parian dolls had molded hair, painted eyes,
and immovable necks. The ceramic head and neckpieces were attached to cloth
bodies to complete the production of the dolls.
Most Parian dolls were produced
between 1855 and 1885 in Germany.
