This composition doll was made by the Schoenhut Company in 1910. The
Schoenhut Company began producing toys in Philadelphia in 1872. They made dolls,
doll houses, blocks, and other wooden toys including the popular Humpty Dumpty
Circus. Schoenhut's was unable to survive lagging sales caused by the Great
Depression and went out of business in 1935. Their dolls are still popular
collectors' items.
