Bye-lo Babies:

The Bye-Lo baby was popularly known as "The Million Dollar Baby." These dolls took the country by storm in the 1920s. Bye-Lo babies were originally patented by Grace Putnam in 1922 and distributed by George Borgfeldt and Company. Numerous manufacturers made Bye-Lo babies in the U.S.A. and in Germany.

The original Bye-Lo baby was modeled from a three-day-old infant. Bye-Lo babies were from four to twenty inches in height and were made from a variety of materials. Prices ranged from about 50 cents to more than $25.
