The Fort Ancient Indians were very smart because at one of their villages in southern Ohio, they had a solar clock. The clock was made out of three wooden poles in the middle of the village, when the shadow of one of the poles went into the doorway of the hut it would mean that it was time to reap, and when the shadow goes into another doorway it means it is time to plant.
The Fort Ancient Indians were mostly farmers and their most common foods were corn, squash, and beans, usually called the "Three Sisters." When they were done eating food they dug deep holes and buried their garbage in them. Their houses were made of mud and straw. Their beds were made of wood and hide. Heat for their houses came from one fire in the middle of the house. The children had games to play like rolling a round rock and throwing spears at it.
