From P. E. Thomas of Thomas and Caldcleugh, Baltimore, to Thomas Worthington, 12 November 1808.
Esteemed friend,
Thy favor of the 10th of May last did not reach me until some time in September which was the cause of thy
requests not being more early complied with. Thy nephew & myself availed ourselves of the earliest
opportunity of complying with thy orders after they reached us.
I hope thy china & Paper Hangings will be approved. We both exerted our taste in the choice of them and
thought these the best we could procure.
With great respect and a promise [or resolve] to [?] tender of any future services I can render thee
here.
I am very sincerely, thy friend,
P. E. Thomas
P.S.: I forgot to mention that a day or two past we received from J. T. [?] Mason Eighty Dollars on thy
account. We likewise received from Thy Nephew J. Swearingen Thirty Dollars which tow sums exactly reimbursed
us for the money paid for thee on the [illeg.] bills.
